What makes a villa suitable for a family or multi-generational group?
The most important thing is to look at the layout of a house. Most villas now tend to have a ground floor bedroom to cater to any family member with limited mobility. It needs a mix of communal spaces, large terrace to enjoy long lunches and different areas to enjoy the space on your own. Bathrooms are also a good indicator.
Are luxury villas safe for young children and older guests?
Many villas are ideal for families travelling with young children as well as older guests, although safety and comfort can vary from one property to another. We carefully consider details such as steps, slopes, pool positioning, bathroom layouts and overall accessibility, and will always provide honest guidance on whether a villa is the right fit for your group. Some villas also offer gated pools, giving parents of young children complete peace of mind.
Do the pools meet British Safety Standards (BSS), are the pools gated or fenced?
Private villa pools abroad are not required to meet British safety standards, and while permanent fencing is not common, some villas do offer it. We will always be completely transparent about pool safety at the time of booking, and in certain cases, temporary fencing can be arranged on request.
Are the villas truly 'multi-gen friendly' regarding accessibility?
Some villas are, and some are not. Accessibility can be more challenging in villas, as many are set on uneven terrain with stone paths and small steps between different communal areas. We will always be completely transparent and discuss each property in detail, rather than simply labelling a villa as “multi-generational.”
What level of service is included in a family luxury villa?
This varies from villa to villa, but the minimum services usually included are fresh linen and towels, end-of-stay cleaning, and pool and garden maintenance. Additional services can be arranged, and all inclusions will be clearly outlined at the time of booking. We also have a selection of fully-staffed villas.
