Tuscany
La dolce vita, countryside edition
From restored farmhouses to grand estates, settle in to table-first days, mercato mornings, vineyard drives and slow evenings, aperitivo included.
The Hills Have Appetite
Famous for its landscapes, Tuscany captures the essence of slow living, infused with the scent of cypress and rosemary, the warmth of terracotta floors, and the rhythm of days built around good food and conversation. Our villas here are steeped in that same rhythm. These are places with roots and spaces shaped by history and landscape, lived in and loved in equal measure.
Our luxury villas in Tuscany
A taste of what’s possible in the Tuscan countryside. Browse a few highlights below, with the full collection available on request.
Tuscany is at its best when you take it slowly. Dip into the big names when you want them, then retreat back to the countryside for vineyards, long lunches and villa evenings that do not need an itinerary.
Siena and Florence
From Florence’s art and architecture to Siena’s medieval streets, you are well placed to enjoy Tuscany’s headline cities without turning the trip into a checklist. Visiting during the Palio? We can arrange a private window or balcony overlooking the race, an extraordinary way to experience it.
Chianti and Val d’Orcia countryside
Rolling vineyards, cypress-lined roads and hill towns made for unhurried days. Think winery visits, scenic drives, and stopping often, for village strolls, small galleries and lunch that turns into late afternoon.
Life at the villa, Tuscan-style
Tuscany suits villa living. Pizza or pasta making with a local nonna, long tables outside, good wine, and evenings that naturally run late. It is a side of the region you can enjoy without ever needing to leave home.
Thermal springs and spa villages
A different kind of Tuscan day. Soak in natural hot springs and wander small spa towns such as Bagno Vignoni, then follow it with a simple lunch and a slow drive back through the hills. It is the perfect counterpoint to city days and wine country.
Elsewhere, just as tempting

FAQs
Archie Paterson, our Head of Villas, answers some commonly asked questions about Ultimate Villas, including how booking works and how we tailor the details around your stay in Tuscany.
Where is the best area to stay in Tuscany?
Tuscany is full of incredible places but my preference is south Tuscany either in the Val d'Orcia, about an hour south of Siena or the Chianti region. which is well placed to visit both Siena and Florence for day trips. Great wine too!
Do we need a car in Tuscany?
Yes, it is advised to rent a car to explore the area and quaint villages. We work with providers and can offer car rental services.
Are the villas close to villages and restaurants?
Most of our villas will be within a 10 minute drive of a small village. Each villa will have their closest village marked on a map.
When is the best time to visit Tuscany?
Tuscany is wonderful most of the year. Spring and Autumn (also known as the shoulder months) offer less crowds, slightly cooler days, perfect for exploring the Tuscan towns. The summer months get busier but still lovely time to go. Temperature reach low to mid 30's so more for pool relaxation rather than long town visits would be my advice.
Are Tuscany villas suitable for families or multi-generational groups?
Yes, Tuscany is a perfect destination for families and multi-generational groups with activities for all generations. Speak to one of the team who can talk you through the different things for all groups you can do at one of our villas.
What is included in the villa rental?
Inclusions will be stated on each villa page that you see. As we have many villas offline, our team will always let you know what is included and what is not.
How private are the villas?
All of our Tuscan villas are very private and in the countryside.
Are there villas not shown on the website?
Yes, we have plenty of private properties not shown on here so please do get in touch if you want to see our private portfolio.
What support do we have if something goes wrong?
The consultant booking your trip will be your point of contact throughout the planning stage and once you are there. We also work with local experts on the ground who will be there on hand for any emergencies. Most of the villas we represent have a housemanager close by to welcome you and be there for any problems you might have.
Are the Tuscany villas financially protected?
We are able to offer ATOL protection if you book flights through us. The travel consultant assigned to you will make it very clear if you are ATOL protected at the time of booking and you will receive a certificate. If you only book the accommodation through us, it will most likely just be an accommodation booking only but please speak to a member of The Ultimate Villas team if you are unsure.
Archie's Tuscany Top Tip
Select villas in the Chianti region for easy access to Florence and Siena. However, most of our luxury villas will all be within an hour and a half of either Siena or Florence.
There is plenty to explore in this part of Tuscany, but the Palio is unlike anything else. Held twice each summer in Siena’s Piazza del Campo, this historic horse race is a deeply rooted local ritual, where neighbourhood rivalries, tradition and emotion take over the city. If your stay coincides with it, the Palio offers a rare and unforgettable glimpse into Siena at its most alive.
Tuscany is about bringing Italy to your villa, so I would recommend to book a local cook through us to experience the real Italian way of life.
