What does fully staffed villa actually mean?
A fully staffed villa is one where services are included as part of the stay rather than added separately. This typically means a dedicated team such as a housekeeper 6 days a week, a cook for breakfast and lunch & dinner 6 days a week (one day off) and in some cases, a villa manager or concierge. The exact staffing will vary by property and will be noted in the inclusions section of the property page as well as from us at the time of enquiry & booking.
Is staff presence discreet or constant?
Staff presence is always intended to be discreet and unobtrusive. The team will work around your schedule, and once your villa is booked, we can plan the staffing arrangements to ensure you feel completely at ease. In most cases, these villas are highly flexible and can be tailored to suit your individual needs.
Can meals be tailored to children, dietary needs or different tastes?
Yes, this is one of the main advantages of a staffed villa. The team knows the house inside out and often lives on the estate or very close by. Meal planning is discussed before your arrival, so they are fully aware of dietary requirements and the number of children in your group. In most cases, they are also happy to prepare children’s meals earlier, ahead of the adults’ dinner.
Do we need to tip staff, and how does that work?
Tipping is never obligatory, but it is always appreciated if you feel the service has been exceptional. There is no set rule, and we understand it can sometimes feel like an awkward subject. We will always advise you on what is customary depending on the location. In most fully staffed villas, guests typically provide a pooled tip, which the house manager then distributes among the team.
Will staff speak English?
In the majority of our villas, at least one member of staff will speak good English, often the chef or villa manager. We will, of course, confirm this for you at the time of booking.
