The best seat is outside

This collection brings together villas where the view is part of the experience. In the Balearics, think wide sea horizons, golden sunsets and terraces made for long lunches. In Tuscany, it is vineyards, cypress-lined valleys and hilltop panoramas that change with the light.

We look for homes that are positioned beautifully, with outdoor spaces you will actually use, whether that is a pool with an open outlook, a shaded terrace for unhurried meals, or a balcony made for quiet moments. Choose your setting, and we will help you find the right villa for it, then tailor the details around how you want to spend your time away.

FAQs

Our Head of Villas, Archie Paterson, shares answers to frequently asked questions about Ultimate Villas with exceptional views, including beachfront and vineyard settings, and explains how we personalise every stay.

What does beachfront mean when booking a luxury villa, and how close is the beach in practice?

+

Beachfront can mean slightly different things depending on the property. In most cases it means the villa sits directly on the coastline or just above it, with very short and easy access to the beach. We will always be specific about whether the beach is directly below the villa, a short walk away, or accessed via a path or steps, so there is no ambiguity.

Will beachfront villas feel private or are beaches public nearby?

+

Beaches in the Mediterranean are mostly public, but that doesn't mean beachfront villas lack privacy. Many sit in quieter parts of the coast with clever architecture meaning they feel very private from within. We will always be transparent about how busy the beaches can get in the summer months.

How close are beachfront luxury villas to the nearest airport?

+

This depends on location. Luckily, the Balearics are all quite small islands and you are never much further than one hour and a half from the airport on each island. Binicalaf Nou is an option and is only 15 minutes from the airport.

Are vineyard villas located within working vineyards or simply overlooking them?

+

Both exist. Some villas sit within working vineyards, offering a very immersive countryside experience, while others are positioned nearby with open views across vines and rolling landscapes. We will clarify whether the vineyard is operational and how that impacts the feel of the stay. In any case, most owners of the vineyards would welcome you in for a tasting, which is such a fun activity.

An example of a villa within a working vineyard is Villa Icario in Tuscany. Villa Dalt and Villa Baix sit in an ecological winery in Mallorca.

Which regions offer the best vineyard views for luxury villa stays?

+

It's hard to look past Tuscany for this with the Chianti and Montepulciano regions. However, Binfadet in Menorca and Binissalem in Mallorca also offer incredible vineyard regions that are lesser know and definitely worth visiting. A classic option is staying at Villa Le Masse in the Chianti region, Tuscany.

Are beachfront villas practical for families with young children?

+

They can be, but it really depends on the villa. Direct beach access can be wonderful for families, but we always look at factors such as unfenced drops, steps, how close they are to the beach. We will guide you towards beachfront villas made for families, that work well for younger children

Are vineyard villas suitable for families and multi-generational groups?

+

Yes, lots of vineyard villas typically offer more space, privacy and room to roam, which works well for families and larger groups. Layout and accessibility are key, and we will advise on whether a particular villa is suitable for different generations travelling together. I would recommend Villa Icario, Tuscany or Podere Isabella, which has an extra casita for extended space.

What special amenities are available in luxury villas with beachfront or vineyard views?

+

This depends on each villa but one thing for certain is that the owner knows the view and will have positioned the terrace for long lunches and dinners to be overlooking it. Most of our villas have private pools, shaded terraces to read so your stay is as relaxing as it should be. We recommend El Puente Al Amor views of Son Bou.

Do luxury villas include services such as private chefs, housekeeping or concierge support?

+

All villas will have a base level of services such as linens, towels, end of stay cleaning. Other inclusions will be clearly discussed at the time of booking. We are able to provide staffing on request through our local providers. See our selection of fully-staffed villas.

Can we arrange early check-in or late check-out at a luxury villa?

+

While we will always endeavour to accommodate your timings, this is not always possible. In peak season especially, villas require turnaround time for cleaning and preparation ahead of each arrival.

Are pets allowed in luxury villas, including beachfront or vineyard properties?

+

Some villas are pet friendly, subject to the owner’s approval. Please let us know at the time of enquiry so we can confirm this in advance. If travelling with a pet is important, we will focus our search on suitable properties.
